Knit Mittens, Warm Hands - with Kate Atherley
If you have not made Mittens before, this is the class for you. Join us for an evening of learning everything you need to know to keep your loved ones hands toasty this coming winter. We will start by creating a mini mitt while learning all you need to know from approriate cast-ons, to creating the thumb, to finishing the top. And then get cast on for a pair for yourself! We will be working on nice chunky yarn so they will knit up nice and quick and be perfect for the coming frosty weather!
This class includes:
- One 3 hour session
- a Mitten Pattern
- Yarn to create your mini
Skills Needed: You will need to be comfortable with knitting basics including knitting and purling to create ribbing, and you should aleady know how to work in the round on DPNs ( or magic loop if you prefer ). If you have never used DPNs before you might want to attend our Knitting Your First Hat class
- 4.50mm and 6.00mm Double Pointed Needles (or long circular if you prefer magic loop)
- 100g of chunky yarn, we are happy to recommend suitable yarns
Student receive a 10% discount on materials and tools for class projects. We recommend coming a bit early to choose your materials and pick up your needles, in case any yarn needs to be wound...so we can start on time!
